Rehp was a fork of js_of_ocaml to compile to php in addition to javascript. It might be possible to reuse it for lua.

This project was an excellent idea. It’s sad it never got to anything. If you deal with small businesses/artists/non-profits, there are still so many websites that run on cheap php-only infrastructures.
