OCaml in Machine Learning State of the State

Hey Guys,
a complete beginner here who just finished his first functional programming course in uni and I was wondering as the last posts about it seem quite old how you guys would rate OCaml in the space of Machine Learning and Deep Learning. I would really like to get more into both topics OCaml and ML but was wondering if that is a viable path.
Do you guys see advantages that the current OCaml ecosystem has over Python or overall benefits of doing it in OCaml and if so, in which kinds of situations do you think OCaml can really “shine”.
Would appreciate all kinds of answers!
