Gil-scm is not really an scm, (source management control),

it takes its inspiration from an scm, but it should more be considerated as a “snapshot-management-script”.

You can also more easily split the contents tracked, a lib and the thing that use your lib.
(You can also produce the manifest, in .html, that you can dump to .txt with links -dump.)
